Through our Scholarship Program and Student Assistance Program, we are proud to give back in ways that directly impact students’ educational journeys. These initiatives reflect our belief that when alumni unite in support of students, we strengthen the future of Alabama State University.

The ASU National Alumni Association believes that financial barriers should not stand in the way of academic progress, persistence, and graduation. Our scholarship and student assistance efforts are designed to provide support to deserving students who demonstrate need, promise, and determination.

ASU NAA Scholarship Program
The ASU NAA Scholarship Program provides financial support to eligible Alabama State University students to help offset educational expenses and encourage academic achievement.
Purpose
The purpose of the scholarship program is to:
- Support deserving students with financial need
- Encourage academic persistence and student success
- Promote alumni giving as an investment in future generations
- Strengthen the bond between alumni and students
Scholarship Structure
- One (1) scholarship awarded per NAA Region (minimum)
- Awards Amount: $ 500-$ 1,000 per recipient

Student Assistance Program
The Student Assistance Program is designed to help students facing urgent or short-term financial hardships that may prevent them from remaining enrolled, returning to school, or graduating on time.
Purpose
This program is intended to assist students who may need support with:
- Small outstanding balances preventing registration or graduation
- Emergency educational expenses
- Temporary financial hardships affecting enrollment persistence
- Other limited student-related needs approved through the review process
Program Goal
The goal of the Student Assistance Program is to provide timely support to students who are close to reaching important academic milestones but need immediate assistance to move forward.
This program reflects the Association’s commitment to meeting students where they are and offering practical support when it matters most.

- Awards are based on eligibility, available funds, and review outcomes
